Does anyone know what happens to full-time JW's(DO's, CO's, Missionaries, Special pioneers, etc) when they reach old age?
by african GB Member ini am just wondering since these people never work a secular job.
is there some sort of an arrangement from the society to care for them?
presuming they don't even have children of their own to look after them when they are old..

I feel so guilty for refusing to help the sister of an elder who DF'd me years ago.
by african GB Member ini recently moved to another province/state, after i got a job there.
the sister of one of the elders who were on my jc (about 8 years ago) also got the job around the same area about two weeks ago.
i could'nt believe my ears when i got the call from that elder asking me to accomodate her sister in my spare bedroom, until she finds her own place.

Perhaps the idea is right, just not executed properly by WBTS.
by african GB Member ini have to say that i don't agree with core teachings of this org, but their idea of people living a clean and healthy lifestyle(eg.not smoking, not abusing alcohol, not sleeping with different partners, etc.
) is good.
i think if wbts do away with df'ing and shunning, fs, information control, they would be the fastest growing org in the world, but as we all know, that could only happen in a dream.. what if another org adopted some of wbts's policies without being draconian and harsh?.

The feeling one gets after being DF'd.
by african GB Member inwhen i got df'd a few years ago, i had this feeling of freedom and independence that i never felt before then.
having been born a jw i always felt i had to please jehovah in everything i did.. in the midst of all that however, i had this gulity feeling that haunted me and kept following me.
i just could'nt completely forget about jehovah.

Generation overlap gives JW's extended lifespan.
by african GB Member inat this year's convention, the last talk titled 'stay in the secret place of the most high', dealt with the generation issue.
the speaker said that a generation could be "any group of people living in the same period of time".
he gave an example of frederic franz and ct russell, saying they were of the same generation since f franz was already alive when russell died.. this would surely mean that "this generation" may never come to pass, ever..

Who is AGBM?
by african GB Member inthe purpose of this thread is to tell everyone on this board who i am and why i am so different.. first of all, i have already apologised on another thread for posting zero drivel topics here.. i am a 29 year old male, born-in, baptised in 1998, df'd in 2003 for fornication, reinstated in 2008. i want to make it clear that i have never been a ms. after my reinstatement i continued to attend meetings with the same cong.
but moved to another cong.
earlier this year, reason being, the continued shunning by some hardcore self-righteous publishers.. i am still with the same cong until now, i go to meetings regularly, including taking part as well as giving bible reading talks.
